iPass SmartConnect™ App Reviews

Have tried every permutation of user ID and password my company told me to. This app has never worked—cannot join any iPass wifi networks—and the app gets so little developer TLC that its not been updated for iPhone 5 over 6 months after it came out. A waste of time.

Not sure why Ipass encourages you to download their mobile app and then there be no way to log in. Spent 15-20 minutes trying to make it work and like everyone else here - no luck!

Never works on US Airways Gogo. Always works on Boingo. Thinks that any SSID with a login page needs to use iPass to login, preventing you from manually logging in. Absolutely terrible user interface. Huge waste of time. Write this over from scratch, and make it less terrible this time.

Adding the exception list clears the big problem. It is still a bit rough getting online in some networks. The "An iPass network" indicator is only 70% reliable, so you have to figure out whether you need to add exceptions. Also, adding exceptions cloud be easier -- show a list of available networks (plus a network currently associated, if it doesnt advertise the SSID) and allow to to select, in addition to the text input. iPass is vey handy, and the app helps, once you learn its quirks. Still not quite easy to use.

Once downloaded and activated, it connects easily. I can see the nearby iPass hotspots and connect without the password fudging. Great app!!

I love the cool new features with version 3.2, especially the offline hot spot finder and speed test! Extremely user-friendly and awesome graphics! Nice work, iPass!

The iPass app has been super useful whenever Im at airports or hotels, and since Im a Verizon customer, I can also use the attwifi hotspots at Starbucks and McDonalds. The new app has an offline hotspot finder built in too, which solves the old problem of how do you get WiFi when theres no WiFI!

I need to always be connected and I dont like to waste money. This app saves me a fortune! Have used the product for years. App just gets better each release.

I really like the new speed test feature. Now I can get rid of my speed test app. Love the new interface design. The only thing I dont like is the get online with iPass button it takes you to a Q&A page, I dont get it.

Love the new HSF and speed test, but I am happy with just the overall better response from the app and the messaging associated with it.

The addition of the offline hotspot locator was quite helpful

The poor functionality of this app is quickly outweighing its usefulness. I used to use iPass quite a bit and having it on the phone was great, but now it only seems to crash every time I I try to use it.

Excellent app to stay connected with Wi-Fi on the go and save on those roaming charges. Loving iPass Open Mobile app on my iPad and iPod!

My must have app for all my other apps

The speed test is so cool - now I use it every time Im in a hotspot where I need to work and I know in advance what kind of apps Ill be able to use. I really like the new hotspot finder too - very handy with all the new info.
